Pack 4 Leader Meeting Sept. 2009 – Minutes

And Round Table Information

Pack Meetings / School Night to Join Scouting

Sept 17 7:00 PM in Cafeteria

St. Louis Zoo Outreach Program – Built for Survival Program

Webelos 2 for skit, setup and flags

Also school night to join scouting, we’ll collect applications and registration fees.

We have a small logistical problem.

We need to have all the applications handed in that night at Shaw school

Shaw school is closing at 8:30 PM

We’ll have to send a representative to Shaw with the applications and a check before the pack meeting is over.

I think I should handle the registration process and Matt Meyer can close out the meeting. I’ll check with Matt.

We already have two den leaders lined up for the Tiger Cubs, two more would be perfect:

Jennifer Raymond

Ron Breville

Camping

After discussing the possible dates for our planned family camp, we decided on:.

May 15 +16

Hank will find out when reservations for the following year can be made.

Fundraisers

We decided participating in the Boy Scout popcorn sale. The old vendor is supplying the popcorn this year. We hope we can do this every year, but we have concerns based on the last popcorn sale.

Hank and Matt will attend the popcorn informational meeting on Sept 23. We will take very careful notes and scrutinize the volume of product in each package. (They’ll have samples at the meeting.) If we think an item is not a good value we might consider eliminating it or advising people not to purchase it.

The fundraiser is in Oct and Nov. If we need a second fundraiser we’ll decided in December.

We need all scouts to participate for the fundraiser to be successful. We expect all scouts to participate and we’ll set an expected dollar amount to be sold. To get people on board we need a break down of our expenses to show people how much the program cost to run.

City Museum

Great discounts for non profit groups. ($6.00)

We like the idea but our calendar is full for the fall.

We need to pick a date for the spring.

Climbing Wall

Matt looked into Upper Limits.

The cost is $15 per scout

We thought the cost was too high and other trips costing less would be a better value

Cub Scout Leader Training

Registration: 7:45 to 8:00

Class: 8:00 to 12:00

Cost $15 (the pack will reimburse you)
