Adult Leadership
In addition to
Cub Scouts we're also looking for adults to
join as leaders. Adult leadership and
participation makes everything in Cub Scouts
possible. The greatest gift you can give
these children is your time, attention, and
dedication.
All parents
will be asked to help out in some capacity.
If your son is in the first grade (Tiger
Cubs) a parent or guardian (the adult
partner) is required for all events.
If you are
interested in becoming a Cub Scout leader

Questions?
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions.)
Q: Why do
we only register for a partial year?
A: Our scouting year goes from April to
March. In March the entire pack goes through
a process called rechartering to register
all Cub Scouts for the next scouting year.
By spreading the rechartering process over
different months for different scouting
units, the Greater St. Louis Area Council (GSLAC)
for Boy Scouts of America (BSA) can evenly
distribute the work over the entire year for
their administrative staff. If you are
joining our pack now, the registration fee
you pay will cover Sept. – March and is
discounted proportionally. In March you will
have to pay a registration fee again if you
wish to continue participating. That fee
will cover the entire year, April – March.
Q: How
old do you have to be to join Cub Scouts?
A: You must be in grades 1 - 5 to
participate in Cub Scouts.
Q: What
if I can't make it to the meeting with my
son, or visa versa, or neither of us can?
A: In order to register for Cub Scouts a
completed registration form signed by a
parent or legal guardian is required along
with a check for the appropriate
registration fee. (See above.) If the parent
cannot make it to the meeting please contact
the Cubmaster, Hank Young, (see above) to
get the application in advance. You can then
return the completed application along with
the registration check or send it to the
meeting with you son. (Please don’t send
your son to the meeting alone. If you can’t
make it please make arrangements for another
adult to bring him. The adult is required to
stay with him for the entire meeting.) If
your son cannot make it to the meeting the
parent can sign them up at the meeting. If
you both cannot make the meeting, please
contact the Cubmaster, Hank Young, for an
application and return it by Sept. 10.
Q: My son
is already in Cub Scouts, do I need to
attend this meeting?
A: This meeting is for signing up new Cub
Scouts. Scouts already registered should not
attend.
